Rooted in the ancient traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda—and nourished by the land, sea, and spirit of Costa Rica—the Abhyasa School of Yoga is a new training space designed for seekers, teachers, and those on a path of embodied transformation.

Housed within the healing grounds of Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda Café, The Abhyasa School of Yoga blends traditional practice, modern insight, and holistic living to offer internationally accredited teacher trainings that honor lineage, accessibility, and lived experience.

Whether you’re called to become a teacher or deepen your personal path, this school invites you into a curriculum that is both rigorous and soul-led.

All teachings are held within an environment of compassionate self-study, embodied learning and holistic approaches.

To guide students into the heart of yoga through consistent practice (abhyasa), self-inquiry, and devotion.

Our mission is to honor the roots of yoga while making its teachings accessible, inclusive, and deeply embodied.

We believe learning should be immersive, integrative, and in rhythm with nature.

We are here to create a school where ancient wisdom meets real life—supported by the healing pillars of Ayurveda, community, and the natural world.

Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the four elements—Earth, Water, Fire, and Air—which serve as energetic anchors for our curriculum and personal practice. The fifth element of spirit is carried through the entire project and all of those involved.

Earth

Allows us to meet the body where it is, understand its wisdom and offer it what it needs through movement, rest, food and supportive environment

Water

Allows us to be present to the fluctuations of our emotions and of life itself. This gives us the capacity to be compassionate and fluid, and to bend in the ways that life will demand.

Fire

Allows to be disciplined, devotional and determined in our chosen path and gives us the capacity to be focussed, to grow spiritually and to have courage to meet what must be faced

Air

Allows us to access the realm of intelligence and ideas, free from confines and constraints. We can feed or empty the mind so that we can benefit from the imagination and connection to higher ideals.
